Summary

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Honestly, the premise of this story starts out great but then it turns into fifty shades of ancient Greece。 Persephone made me want to throw off my chains and fight a God (specifically her) bc she spent so much time doubting every single person who breathed the same air as her。 Honestly I think the best chapters were hades (but even those read like midnight sun)

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I would rate it 3。5 stars if that was a thing。 I liked this book but I wish it was written different。 It took over 200 pages for any action to take place and then at the end everything happened so fast。 I mean it was a good book and I’m sure I’ll read the rest of the series because I’m super excited for Hades and Persephone’s relationship in the underworld with all of the characters and I loved how Hades tried to be mortal for her and do things she did like bake cookies 😅😅 but yea 3。5 stars , ma I would rate it 3。5 stars if that was a thing。 I liked this book but I wish it was written different。 It took over 200 pages for any action to take place and then at the end everything happened so fast。 I mean it was a good book and I’m sure I’ll read the rest of the series because I’m super excited for Hades and Persephone’s relationship in the underworld with all of the characters and I loved how Hades tried to be mortal for her and do things she did like bake cookies 😅😅 but yea 3。5 stars , maybe 4 at some points but yea 。。。more

I really loved this book! I had to stay up later than usual at night because I had to finish it。 It's smutty but it usually didn't make me cringe, plus there is a solid and important plot。 Hades is just amazing and all the gods seemed similar to the original myths。。。 I study Archeology and everything felt right (except for Haephestus and Aphrodite honestly)! Definitely recommended if you're searching for a light but good book! I really loved this book! This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I devoured this book like a staved woman! I couldn't read it fast enough。 I absolutely adore Hades and Persephone's story。 It has all the tropes that I adore in books! I am a sucker for fated love, enemies to loves, close proximity, I could go on and on! Persephone and her constant self doubt did bug me at times。 I also wish her backstory with her mother would've been expounded on a little more。 That being said the relationship between Hades and Persephone was perfect。 I wouldn't change a thing。 I devoured this book like a staved woman! 3。5I had hoped for more, to be honest。 In terms of world development, I always expect more from a series, but there was nothing compelling about this one。 The plot was cliched, and the dialogues were even monotonous。 It was disappointing。

This book was not a life-changing or heartwarming love story; it's not that deep。But having said that, I did finish it faster than any other book I have read lately。。。 and gosh。。。I wonder why。。。I thought that some scenes and characters in this book were unnecessary, and more towards the end, some things felt very rushed。 It lacked some logic and explanation but elaborated too much on other things; between all that, it lacked a certain ballance。 I truly enjoyed this book; I gobbled it up, but not This book was not a life-changing or heartwarming love story; it's not that deep。But having said that, I did finish it faster than any other book I have read lately。。。 and gosh。。。I wonder why。。。I thought that some scenes and characters in this book were unnecessary, and more towards the end, some things felt very rushed。 It lacked some logic and explanation but elaborated too much on other things; between all that, it lacked a certain ballance。 I truly enjoyed this book; I gobbled it up, but not for the reasons I would with a four or five-star book。 。。。more

More like 2 1/2 or 3 stars。 I needed a book to fill the 2022 Reading Challenge category of “Read a retelling of an ancient myth” and someone recommended this one。 Alas, I’ve read all of Madeline Miller’s books, and Circe this is not。 Hades & Persephone are the only characters with any dimension and even they are fairly shallow。 Demeter has absolutely no nuance and the rest of the supporting characters are equally flat。 The plot with its prurient content, moves the story along and makes it a quic More like 2 1/2 or 3 stars。 I needed a book to fill the 2022 Reading Challenge category of “Read a retelling of an ancient myth” and someone recommended this one。 Alas, I’ve read all of Madeline Miller’s books, and Circe this is not。 Hades & Persephone are the only characters with any dimension and even they are fairly shallow。 Demeter has absolutely no nuance and the rest of the supporting characters are equally flat。 The plot with its prurient content, moves the story along and makes it a quick read。 I could easily see this becoming a Netflix or Hulu type production; the Greek god's escapades were the original soap operas afterall, but I don’t think I’ll continue with this series。 。。。more

I don't know how to rate this。It was good, entertaining。 But the world building felt flimsy。Many things were unclear and left to self assumptions。 the development of their relationship also felt flat。 I mean everyone knows what was going to happen in the end, it was the anticipation about how they would get there that us readers look forward to and i did not get that in this book。Plus there were a lot of similarities with Lore Olympus。 I might be mistaken and my brain is just connecting these t I don't know how to rate this。It was good, entertaining。 But the world building felt flimsy。Many things were unclear and left to self assumptions。 the development of their relationship also felt flat。 I mean everyone knows what was going to happen in the end, it was the anticipation about how they would get there that us readers look forward to and i did not get that in this book。Plus there were a lot of similarities with Lore Olympus。 I might be mistaken and my brain is just connecting these two together but there were times when i was imagining the scenes as they happened in the webtoon。anyways if you like Hades and Persephone retellings, you can give it a try and decide for yourself。 。。。more

It was ok。A bit dissapointing。 I am a sucker for greek mythology but please。I dont like this version and personification of both gods。 Also, all the cringe porn mid books makes me quite。。。welll, cringed。I also do not like the fact that a woman has to "discover herself and her true potential" through a man。Thtas it I guess。Shrugs* It was ok。A bit dissapointing。 I am a sucker for greek mythology but please。I dont like this version and personification of both gods。 Also, all the cringe porn mid books makes me quite。。。welll, cringed。I also do not like the fact that a woman has to "discover herself and her true potential" through a man。Thtas it I guess。Shrugs* 。。。more

I picked up and put down this book several times。 It was not the writing of this book but rather just the busy life of a college student。 I was pulled into the story every time I picked up this book and lost myself in the story as I read。 I could feel myself relating to Persephone in the feelings of school seems to be the only things she's good at, but then Hades comes into her life and shows her that she doesn't have to define herself by other people's labels。 The spice wasn't overbearing, bant I picked up and put down this book several times。 It was not the writing of this book but rather just the busy life of a college student。 I was pulled into the story every time I picked up this book and lost myself in the story as I read。 I could feel myself relating to Persephone in the feelings of school seems to be the only things she's good at, but then Hades comes into her life and shows her that she doesn't have to define herself by other people's labels。 The spice wasn't overbearing, banter was funny, and I enjoyed watching their relationship grow。 I'm really looking forward to continuing and finishing the series。 。。。more
